Targeted, therapeutic massage tailored to your body, your history and your goals.
“The right pressure, the right technique, and the right approach – because every body needs something different.”
What Is Prescriptive Massage?
Prescriptive Massage is a tailored, therapeutic approach that blends different massage styles to meet the exact needs of your body on the day. Instead of choosing one type – deep tissue, relaxing, sports, myofascial, cupping or taping – we create a treatment that responds to how you feel, how you move, and what your nervous system can safely recieve.
This is not a “one pressure fits all” massage.
Some bodies need soothing, calming touch.
Some bodies need slow fascial work.
Some need targeted muscular release.
Some benefit from focused sports techniques, or supportive taping.
Some require gentler oncology-informed adaptations.
Prescriptive Massage brings all of this together, giving you exactly what your body needs – no guessing, no forcing, no cookie-cutter routines.
Who Is Prescriptive Massage For?
This approach is ideal for:
✔️ People with muscular tension or stiffness
✔️ Those with postural strain from work, caring or daily life
✔️ Carers supporting loved ones with illness or cancer
✔️ Athletes or active individuals needing targeted recovery
✔️ People with chronic tension headaches or tightness
✔️ Those who do not want deep pressure, but do want deep release
✔️ Anyone who isn’t sure what type of massage they need
✔️ Clients who prefer a thoughtful, adaptive, therapeutic approach
✔️ Individuals with scars, altered tissue or old injuries
✔️ People needing cancer-aware or gentle modifications
Because the treatment is adapted session by session, it suits everyone from high pressure athletes to older adults seeking soft, restorative touch.
Types of Techniques Used in Prescriptive Massage
• Relaxing/Swedish – Soothing, calming techniques to help the nervous system settle and the breath slow
• Deep Tissue – Thoughtful, targeted pressure when your body is ready – never overpowering or painful
• Sports Massage – Focused work for strain, overuse, athletic recovery, repetitive movement patterns and event preparation
• Cupping Therapy – Gentle decompression of tissues using silicone cups to improve glide, reduce tension and support mobility ( used only when safe and over fragile skin)
• Soft Tissue Relase – Specific techniques to free tight, shortened or overworked muscles
• Flexi taping/Supportive taping – Used post-treatment to support posture, encourage lymph flow, or ease strain
• Gentle Oncology-Informed Modifications – When working with carers, survivors or those with medical histories requiring adaptation. See sections under cancer support
No two sessions look the same – because no two bodies feel the same.
Why Deep Pressure Isn’t Always Better
A tense, guarded body often braces and protects when met with forceful pressure.
This creates:
• More tension
• More guarding
• Less release
• A nervous system that cannot relax
True therapeutic change happens when the body feels safe, not overwhelmed.
My works meets your tissues where they are – never pushing past what they can comfortabley receive.
This is how deep, lasting release actually happens.
