Pilates Therapy And Bodywork

Helping you rebuild confidence in your body after cancer treatment, surgery, or life’s physical challenges

At Pilates Therapy & Bodywork I support people recovering from cancer treatment, surgery and long-term physical changes. My work combines hands-on therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, specialist scar care and gentle rehabilitation movement to help reduce swelling, improve mobility and rebuild confidence in your body. With nearly three decades of experience working with bodies in pain, recovery and rehabilitation, my aim is to help people understand what is happening in their body and move forward safely.

Support After Cancer Treatment

Cancer treatment can leave people dealing with fatigue, swelling, lymphatic changes, scar tissue and a loss of confidence in movement.

I offer supportive therapies and specialist movement sessions designed to help rebuild strength, support the lymphatic system and gently guide recovery.

Support is also available for family members and carers who often carry a great deal during this time. You can find movement,  calming therapies and support here

Recovery After Surgery

Manual Lymphatic Drainage and specialist scar therapy can support recovery after many types of surgery including:

  • breast surgery

  • hip replacement

  • knee surgery

  • abdominal surgery

  • spinal procedures

These therapies can help reduce swelling, improve tissue mobility and support the body’s natural healing process.

Balancing the Diaphragms

Martine, Client

Pilates has strengthened my body in an even way from top to toes! It has greatly improved my general fitness, balance and wellbeing, particularly my core, lower back, hips and buttocks. Each exercise is explained and your movement is checked. Zoom classes have been a real boost to everyone. You can do one class or as many as fit your day.

“My back is 20 years younger”

Jackie, Client

Just a brilliant way to stay fit, strong and healthy. Fiona is a great teacher even with the constraints that covid has put on us all. With the health issues I have had this year I can honestly say without Fiona I would not be walking today. I have a strong body due to my pilates training and of course, sheer bloody mindedness. Thanks Fi. You are my hero.
