A gentle, welcoming support group in Frinton
This group offers a calm, friendly space for people who have experienced breast cancer, themselves, a family member or friend you are caring for and would like connection, understanding and community.
There is no pressure to talk, no expectations, and no right or wrong way to take part. You are welcome to come along exactly as you are– whether you feel chatty, quiet, curious, or unsure.
About the group
Together After Breast Cancer was set up by Anne following her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2008. Having experienced first-hand how isolating breast cancer can feel, Anne wanted to create a local, welcoming space where people could meet others whole truly understand.
The groups meets once a month and is led with warmth, kindness, and care. Its focus is on connection, gentle support, and creating a sense of belonging– not advice-giving or fixing.
What happens when we meet?
Each session is relaxed and informal. You can take part in whatever feels right for you.
You might find:
• A friendly welcome with tea or coffee
• time to chat, listen or simply sit quietly
• space to share ideas or experiences (only if you want to)
• optional activities, gentle movement, craft activity, or a hand massage
• a calm, respectful atmosphere where everyone is treated with care.
Everything offered is optional. Sometimes people come just to be in the room with others who understand.
Who the group is for
This group is open to anyone who has experienced breast cancer, at any stage – whether recently diagnosed, in treatmentm, or many years beyond. It is also a welcome space for family members and carers of someone touched by breast cancer.
It is a peer-led group and does not replace medical or clinical care, but offers something different: shared understanding, connection, and community.
