Vodder Method (MLD) Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Gentle, rhythmic treatment supporting the lymphatic system.
“Light, rhytmic touch that encourages your body’s natural healing pathways.”
What Is MLD?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage using the Vodder Method is a gentle, precise technique developed in the 1930s by Dr Emil and Estrid Vodder. It supports the lymphatic system – the body’s fluid, detoxification and immune network – through carefully trained, rhythmic hand movements that encourage lymph flow.
MLD is widely used in hospitals and lymphodema services across the UK and Europe. It is particularly effective after cancer treatment, lymph node removal, trauma and surgery.
Who Is It For?
MLD is ideal for:
• Lymphodema (lymphodema specialist therapist) or risk of lymphodema
• Post-cancer treatment swelling
• After lymph node removal (specialist trained therapist)
• Post surgical recovery (cosmetic or medical)
• Radiotherapy-related tightness or congestion
• Chronic inflammation or fluid retention
• Fatigue, brings fog and nervous system overload
• Anyone needing gentle, restorative treatment
