Transform Your Health with Clinical Pilates: Reduce Pain, Increase Strength, and Boost Flexibility.

Transform Your Health with Clinical Pilates: Reduce Pain, Increase Strength, and Boost Flexibility.

Imagine a form of exercise that not only helps you move with ease but also strengthens your body, and enhances your flexibility.

Clinical Pilates is a transformative approach- a system of controlled, low-impact exercises. It is by far one of the best ways to exercise in a safe environment. Exercises are tailored to your needs and adapted to be both challenging and safe, so you feel relaxed during your sessions. Progression, regression and adaptation are done reactively during your small group session (1-4, 4-8, 0r up to 10 depending on level and condition).

You might have had surgery, be recovering from an injury, receiving treatment for cancer, managing chronic pain or just wanting a healthier body. I can offer you a comprehensive solution.

I can offer you a comprehensive solution that can reduce pain, increase your strength and flexibility and empower you to take back control of your body, leading to lasting improvements in your overall well-being.

Reduce Pain

Chronic pain is debilitating, it can interrupt sleep and disrupt daily life which reduces your joy in moving around, and can even stop you wanting to go out and meet with friends. Clinical Pilates can help by improving your body awareness, educating you in better movement patterns. You will be encouraged to focus on alignment, improving your posture and controlling movement patterns.

I will not only look at your standing posture, I will constantly monitor and reactively adapt exercises to help correct any poor movement patterns I see that could be contributing to your pain. We will work together to strengthen any weak areas and give overworked areas a rest, with the overall aim of restoring balance to help reduce stress and strain on joints and tissues.

Clinical Pilates has Evidence-Based Benefits

An 8 week programme of clinical pilates was effective in reducing pain, improving muscle strength and reducing disability. (Effectiveness of clinical pilates program in women with chronic low back pain. Ozden Baskan et al)

Clinical Pilates has been shown to improve dynamic balance, reducing the risk of falls. (Effect of clinical pilates training and postural control in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Fahriye et al)

Clinical Pilates exercises designed and delivered by an expert could be a safe contribution to treatment program. (Effects of clinical pilates exercises on patients developing lymphedema after breast cancer treatment. Hulya Ozlem Sener et al)

Increase Strength

Functional strength, the ability to climb the stairs, walk down a steep incline without it hurting your knees. Get onto the floor and get back up again. Put things on the top shelf. Enjoy gardening without the fear of your severe back pain. Strength is key in a healthy resilient body. Clinical Pilates focuses on functional movement and functional strength.

Obviously the heart of our session is built around the core, but it is not only about the core. A pilates body is is one that is worked in its entirety, from footwork to head position, building the kind of body required for everyday tasks like sitting, walking and lifting.

Clinical Pilates improves confidence to move well and reduces your risks of injuries.

A Longer and Leaner Body

A boost in flexibility is essential for joint health and preventing stiffness. Healthy and mobile hip joints also help reduce back pain. The pilates movements are dynamic and flowing to help lengthen muscles and lubricate the joints.

As you improve you will notice that your movement is smoother and more efficient, reducing strain. Things like bending, reaching, twisting to look over your shoulder will feel easier and more comfortable

I am clinically trained and can offer your a personalised approach so that exercises are tailored to your unique needs. We take your medical history and your goals and come up with a plan to suit your body, goals and budget that is safe and will produce effective results.
