Client Information, Appointment Policy & Treatment Guidelines
Pilates Therapy and Bodywork
Appointments & Cancellations
When you book your appointment, that time is held specifically for you. Preparation has taken place, and it is often not possible to offer that time to someone else at short notice.
Cancellation Policy:
- 48 hours notice — 50% fee
- 24 hours notice — full fee
- Rescheduling due to illness — £15 admin fee (to cover running costs)
This allows the clinic to run smoothly and continue offering care to all clients.
Creating a Safe and Respectful Space
My work is centred around creating an environment that feels safe, calm, and respectful for every client.
These guidelines are in place to support:
- Your comfort and dignity
- Clear professional boundaries
- Safe and effective treatment
- Insurance and professional standards
Clothing & Underwear
- Underwear must be worn during all standard treatments
- This applies to all clients and all appointments
This is not about restriction — it ensures:
- Clear and consistent boundaries
- Protection for both client and practitioner
- Alignment with professional and insurance expectations
Clinical Exceptions (Manual Lymphatic Drainage & Specialist Work)
Some treatments — particularly Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) or post-surgical work — may require access to specific areas of the body.
In these situations:
- You will be informed in advance if any adjustment to clothing or underwear may be helpful
- The reason will be clearly explained
- Your consent will always be obtained before proceeding
– No clothing is ever removed without your knowledge and agreement
Draping & Modesty
- You will always be appropriately covered with towels throughout your treatment
- Only the area being worked on will be uncovered
- Adjustments are made carefully and respectfully
Working on the Gluteal Area (Bottom)
Treatment of the gluteal (buttock) area may be appropriate for:
- Movement patterns
- Pain or tension
- Lymphatic or postural work
This can be carried out:
- With underwear in place, or
- With careful draping to maintain full modesty
Hygiene & Cleanliness
For the wellbeing of everyone:
- Please arrive clean and free from strong perfumes or lotions
- Hands are sanitised before and after treatments
- All linens and equipment are cleaned between clients
Professional Conduct & Boundaries
This is a professional therapeutic environment.
- Treatments are strictly clinical and therapeutic
- Any behaviour or requests outside of this will result in the session ending immediately
- Full payment will still be required
These boundaries are in place to protect both client and practitioner and to maintain a safe, respectful space.
Why These Guidelines Matter
These policies are in place to:
- Maintain professional and clinical standards
- Meet insurance requirements for safe practice
- Reduce the risk of misunderstanding or discomfort
- Ensure appropriate conditions in all situations, including emergencies
They allow me to offer treatment that is:
- Safe
- Clear
- Respectful
- Clinically appropriate
A Final Note
If you have any questions, concerns, or preferences, you are always welcome to discuss them.
Open communication is an important part of creating a space where you feel comfortable and supported.
